Almost 10 years ago, a group of independent filmmakers applied to the fourth season of Project Greenlight - a reality show that tried to find promising filmmaking talent and give them a chance at the big times. The show was created by Ben Affleck, Matt Damon, and Chris Moore, and the first season premiered on HBO in 2001.

The premise of the show involves a competition where aspiring filmmakers submit their screenplays for the chance to direct a feature film, and the chosen filmmaker is then followed by cameras throughout the process of pre-production, production, and post-production. The show also features a panel of industry experts who provide guidance and feedback to the director and the production team.

After being rejected from Project Greenlight, Javan Garza, David May, and a number of other rejects started a club called “the Rejects.” The goal of the group was to support one another as everyone chased their passion to make films or other visual art.

It has been too long since everyone checked in with one another, and we are not sure where everyone is at this moment in time, but one thing is for sure, Javan Garza is still putting in the work, and seeing some exciting results.
